It starts at the top: A diverse and professional Board of Directors and senior management
TELUS International is governed by a 10 member Board of Directors, with each member representing unique backgrounds and diverse experiences spanning global business, technology, finance, people and culture and more. This year, four new independent members joined the Board. The Audit Committee consists entirely of independent directors, while two-thirds of the Human Resources Committee are independent. An independent director sits on the Governance and Nominating Committee.

Four of our 10 directors, representing 40 per cent of our board, self-identify as diverse. We have three women on the Board, representing 30 per cent. TELUS International has adopted a diversity policy for the Board of Directors to consider diversity criteria, such as gender, age, ethnicity/Aboriginal status and geographic background in its searches. We believe the promotion of diversity is best served through careful consideration of all of the knowledge, experience, skills and backgrounds of each individual candidate without focusing on a single diversity characteristic. When assessing the composition of our Board, a principal focus is on ensuring the Board has the diverse experiences, skills and backgrounds needed to oversee TELUS International, and we take a balanced approach when considering the extent to which personal characteristics are taken into account.
In 2021, there were 13 meetings of our board of directors. There was nearly 100 percent director attendance at each of these meetings, with one director missing one ad hoc meeting.
The TELUS International Senior Leadership Team is composed of eight senior leaders. Three women serve in executive officer positions, representing 38 percent of our executive officer team. Collectively, members of the Senior Leadership Team represent over 150 years of experience.
